‘Welcome to Liverpool!’
Liverpool fans jokingly welcomed Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini to Anfield last night after his performance for the Saints in the EFL Cup final.
Gabbiadini bagged 2 goals for the Saints and had another wrongly disallowed in a game that saw his side lose 3-2 to Manchester United.
Liverpool have signed 5 Southampton players since 2014, and it’s been joked that they will sign any Southampton player who’s playing well.
The Italian signed at St Mary’s this January and has hit the ground running, scoring 3 goals in 3 appearances.
It was a big call by Claudio Puel to include him in the team, and it very much paid off as his goals kept them in the game for as long as possible.
It didn’t take long for the links to Liverpool to be joked about though,
