‘He told us to play with confidence’
Marouane Fellaini has revealed that Jose Mourinho told his Manchester United team to ‘play with confidence’ at half time against Watford on Sunday.
United went into the dressing room after 45 minutes 1-0 down after Etienne Capoue, but Mourinho’s team-talk couldn’t save the side from eventually losing the game 3-1.
Marcus Rashford got an equaliser for United, but goals from Juan Zuniga and Troy Deeney meant that the hosts took the points as United lost their 3 game in 8 days.
“At half-time, the manager told us to come out and play with confidence and we did that by grabbing the goal,” Fellaini told the club wesbite.
“We played with tempo and we need to start doing that from the first minute. In the second half, we were much better. We kept the ball, created chances and played forward.
“We got back into the game at 1-1 but then we gave away the second goal by giving them too much space and not pressing the ball.”
