Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is hopeful that he can return to the starting line-up for Premier League games after scoring against Swindon Town in the Capital One Cup last night.

The Blues strolled to a 2-0 victory in the cup against the League One outfit and it was the Spaniard that got the first goal of the night.

However, in the Premier League, he has seemingly dropped below Samuel Eto’o in the ranks, but he is hopeful that his goal last night will put him in with a chance of starting more regularly in the league, which in his opinion, will lead to more goals.

“It is just that in the last couple of seasons I have been involved more in the cup competitions than in the Premier League and I have scored more goals in the cups than in the league.

“Hopefully I will have the chance to play more often in the Premier League and score some more goals.

“We know that the season is long and that we will all have the chance to play in important games. We have got a big squad and we will all be involved.

“Hopefully we keep the hard work high and we are in the manager’s plans, because there are 25 players in this squad and it is difficult to play in a great team.”
