Francis Coquelin has admitted that he wants to stay at Arsenal for the rest of his career.

The Frenchman has made 121 for the Gunners since making his first-team debut back in 2008 and is among the club’s current longest serving players.

Coquelin’s contract is only set to expire in the summer of 2019 but the defensive midfielder is looking to remain at the Emirates Stadium for his entire footballing career.

“Wanting higher and bigger doesn’t leave me many options,” Coquelin told L’Equipe.

“Arsenal is already a very big club and I am loyal to the cub, I arrived young here, I owe them a lot and as long as things are done properly – I want to stay here as long as possible.”

The former France U21 international wants to repay Arsene Wenger for the faith he put into him when coming through the Academy as a youngster and revealed that he would love to stay a one club man with Arsenal.

He said: “There needs to be the same wish from both sides, but finishing my career at Arsenal would fill me with pride.”
