The Blues surprisingly lost their opening Premier League game to Burnley and former Chelsea star Frank Lampard believes he knows what the problem is over at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea captain Gary Cahill was sent off early on and they were three goals down by half time.
Alvaro Morata and David Luiz netted to give hope of a comeback but Burnley held on for the three points.
And Lampard says the negativity surrounding Chelsea is costing them, claiming it needs to be resolved as soon as possible.
“Very disappointing for sure,” Lampard said on BT Sport.
“A surprise? Maybe not. I’m looking at it and thinking there are too many bad noises coming out of the club going into the season.
“Will that now be the catalyst for change? Will they bring in a couple of players, we need to hear some good things coming out?
“One positive, Morata comes on and scores a goal and makes an assist.
“A terrible start for Chelsea but first game, a long way to go.
“They need to correct these whispers we keep hearing coming out of the club.”
