According to reports in France 17-year old M’Baye Niang will have a trial with Arsenal, which could lead to a permanent deal. Niang played for Caen’s first team in Ligue 1 last season and also became the second youngest goalscorer in the French top division. Now the young striker who has been called “a phenomenon” could end up at Arsenal who are known for developing young talents.

M’Baye Niang is a tall, strong and physical player even though that doesn’t tell the whole story. Despite being built like a classical target man the young striker enjoys creating chances for others as well, which is usually what ArsĂ©ne Wenger looks for in a player. Niang was brought up in France but has Senegalese heritage and could choose to play for either nation. In 14 starts and 9 appearances as a substitute in Ligue 1 Niang scored two goals last season at the age of 17. Despite his efforts he saw his team become relegated from Ligue 1 and will now look to move to a top club to improve. North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur reportedly had a bid rejected for the young striker, and it remains to be seen if Arsenal will manage to secure his services.
