Chelsea winger will leave club after failed spell

Chelsea outcast Gael Kakuta has reportedly agreed terms to join Spanish side Sevilla on a four-year deal.

The 23-year-old’s contract at Chelsea is due to expire in the coming weeks and is yet to initiate talks with The Blues over an extended deal at Stamford Bridge.

French newspaper L’Equipe claim Kakuta and Sevilla have consented over personal terms, but it is understood the La Liga side are yet to agree a compensation fee with The Blues.

Kakuta Failed at Chelsea

Kakuta endured a successful loan spell at Rayo Vallecano this season, netting five goals and assisting seven. But his performances weren’t enough to stand out to Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

The Frenchman made a mere six Premier League appearances for The Blues after joining from Lens in 2007 and has been loaned out to Fulham, Bolton, Dijon, Vitesse and Lazio before playing with Rayo this term since arriving in West London eight years ago.
