Gary Neville: Mauricio Pochettino is my manager of the year

Gary Neville has snubbed Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to pick Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino for his manager of the season.

The Manchester United legend is a well-known keen admirer of the work that the Argentine gaffer has done at White Hart Lane, which could still lead to FA Cup glory as well as Champions League qualification for a second straight year.

However, Italian chief Conte looks to guide Chelsea to the title in his first full season in charge at Stamford Bridge, but Neville has been blown away by how much of a good job Pochettino has done while at Spurs.

“I love Tottenham and I love what Pochettino has done,” Neville insisted.

“For me, he’s manager of the year.

“People will say Conte, and I can’t disagree with that, but ultimately with the budget he has at Tottenham and the work that he’s done, to be where they are again at this stage is fantastic.”

Pochettino helped Spurs finish third in the Premier League last campaign and they are currently sat in second place this season, and this had led to clubs like Barcelona being linked with him after a fantastic three years in North London.
