After joining in the summer on a season-long loan from Barcelona. The Everton loanee is starting to make a big impression at Goodison Park,

Deulofeu has not been rushed into action by manager Roberto Martinez, who has predicted the best of him will come in the second half of the season.

But, following his stunning equaliser at Arsenal at the weekend, there is already talk that Everton could look to extend Deulofeu’s loan by an additional 12 months.

However, the 19-year-old winger says he is only thinking about playing well for Everton this season.

“Now I am in Everton and after that I am a Barcelona player. My objective is to enjoy this experience and the future will arrive in that moment and for now I am happy in the Premier League,” he told Catalan radio station RAC 1.

Asked about the prospect of staying for longer at Goodison Park, he added: “Those are only rumours, at the end of the season Barcelona will decide.”

At his press conference before their Champions League clash with Celtic on Wednesday, that sentiment was confirmed by Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino although he admitted to being impressed by the teenager’s recent performances.

Martino said: “He is showing the quality he has as a footballer and Barcelona obviously have an obligation to keep an eye on those players that are loaned out.

“If you ask me do I think he is a great player I would say yes, but there is no decision yet with respect to the players on loan (for next season.)”

Deulofeu has played 11 times in the league for Everton so far, and has been limited to just one start.

But he is happy with how Martinez is guiding him, saying: “That does not surprise me. I have spoken with the coach and Roberto has explained his intentions with me.

“I am loaned here and it is difficult to get a place in the starting XI because I am young and with many things to learn.

“The coach offers a lot confidence to me and this is a wonderful.”
