Juventus goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon says he is “not surprised” that the Blues are top of the Premier League table this season.
Chelsea have won their last eight games on the run and conceded only two goals in the process.
Wins over Manchester United and Manchester City have been great results for the Stamford Bridge outfit, which has left many speculating that Antonio Conte could potentially get his hands on the top prize in just his first season managing in England.
“Chelsea are top of the Premier League, but I’m not surprised,” Buffon told Fox Sports.
“Conte is a winner and he’ll never fight for second place. I’m sure he’s urging the players to give their best. They have a great chance in the League.
“Chelsea have two important factors on their side: they have one of the best Coaches in the world and they’re not playing in Europe, so that allows them to prepare better during the week.”
