John Burridge critical of Premier League goalkeepers

Former-goalkeeper John Burridge has taken aim at four current Premier League ‘keepers and has branded them ‘useless’.

The ex-professional, who had a career with Aston Villa, Southampton and Newcastle United, took to Twitter to complain about the current level of goalkeeping in the top flight.

After watching the Premier League games on Saturday, Burridge took aim at Chelsea‘s Thibaut Courtois, Crystal Palace‘s Wayne Hennessey and Southampton‘s Fraser Forster.

‘Useless’

“The goalkeeping in the Prem is now appalling,” he wrote.

“Courtois 6ft7, Henessey 6ft6, Foster 6ft7 – Useless. The best is Kasper Schmeichel [Leicester] he’s 6ft brilliant.”

Burridge then commented on Simon Mignolet after the Capital One Cup final, and branded him useless as well.

“As I said keeping in the Prem these days is shocking I will add another name to my earlier list Simon Mignolet 6ft5, can’t get down, useless,” he said.
