Chelsea midfielder Andre Schurrle has paid special thanks to playmaker Eden Hazard for helping him to a hattrick against Fulham at Cravan Cottage over the weekend. Schurrle’s magnficent treble got Chelsea the 3-1 win, and Hazard played his part in two of the goals as he marked his 100th Chelsea appearence.

“Eden is awesome, he’s a great player,” said Schurrle, “when we are on the pitch, we can see he takes on three or four players, then we make a run and he can pick us out. I am really happy about the three goals, but more happy about the three points. It’s important for me, of course, I want to play and score.”

Manager Jose Mourinho gave his side a dose of the silent treatment during the half time interval on Saturday, with Chelsea being held 0-0 at the break. Schurrle said,

“It was difficult coming back into the dressing room knowing we had played bad. The manager was there for ten or 15 seconds, said something, but I don’t want to say [it] here, then he left. The pressure was on us to change and we did.”

Chelsea could move further ahead in the league next week as their title rivals Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool do not have a Premier League game due to FA Cup fixtures.
