Eden Hazard has urged Chelsea officials make a move for his Belgian team-mate

Christian Benteke, who has a £35million release clause, could be on the Blues’ radar, according to Goal.com.

Hazard made no secret of his admiration for the Aston Villa striker and told reporters how he would be really happy if Benteke was in a Chelsea shirt next season.

The 2015 P.F.A. Player of the Year spoke about the “great” relationship he has with Benteke and that he would like nothing better than to play with him.

Now or never

The Villa forward is at an age where he has a big decision to make about which club he will join next, according to Hazard.

Whilst the former Lille man was quick to deny Villa are not a “small” club he spoke about the lure of Champions League football being too hard to turn down.

‘If Christian signs with us, I would be the happiest man in the world,’ said Hazard.

‘I have a great relationship with him and would like nothing better than to play with him. Christian is 25. He is at an age where he has to make a good career choice.

“Not that Aston Villa is a small club, but he has already played many great games and can now play in the Champions League.’

Liverpool interest

Manager Brendan Rodgers is also reportedly interested in the 24-year-old and could be given the green light to match any bid by Chelsea.

When asked about a move, Benteke was rather quiet on the matter insisting his agent would do the “right” thing whilst he is on international duty.
