Spurs will not break wage structure for star
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is in a contract standoff with the club.
Chairman Daniel Levy has a tight wage structure and it’s thought that he’s unwilling to break it, even for one of his best players.
If Lloris wants to sign a new, long-term contract, he will have to remain inside that structure.
The French goalkeeper is thought to be willing to sign a new contract at White Hart Lane, but Levy refuses to pay any player over £100,000 per week.
Lloris is currently on £80,000 per week, but knows he could double his wages if he left North-London and went to play elsewhere.
Tottenham had a similar issue over Christian Eriksen, when his agent originally demanded around £150,000-a-week, but a compromise was reached and the Dane penned a new £70,000-a-week contract.
