Tottenham Hotspur announce new signing

The young Cameroon international is gearing up for his new challenge at Spurs

Clinton played at Lyon last season as a centre forward and his displays in Ligue 1 have finally earned him a place in the Premier League, which he is publicly thankful for.

Tottenham announced the signing of Njie Clinton on Saturday (His 22nd Birthday), subject to international  clearance and the striker receiving a work permit. The youngster has said that he wants to repay Spurs with good performances after they showed so much faith in him.

Player Statement

“I‘m very happy to join Tottenham, such a big club in England,” said Clinton, nicknamed ‘Clint’.

“I’m still young, still growing up and it’s a big challenge – the Premier League is one of the biggest leagues in the world.

“The club is ambitious and I’m ready to give my best to help the club achieve its aims.

“Like I said, I’m still learning and I’m here to give my best. I just hope I get the chance to give (back) to the club what they are giving to me.”

“I’ve always loved playing football and it’s always been my dream to play professional football so when I had my chance, I had to grab it,” he said.

Clinton should not have any problems with his welcoming as a former team mate is at his new club by the name of Hugo Lloris.

The two spent a year together at Lyon before the French national captain decided to leave for Spurs in 2012.

“He is a very nice person and a good captain. He has his fighting spirit and his winning spirit and helps the younger players. He is a good leader.”
