Inter Milan set to bid £25m for Chelsea’s Oscar in January

Inter Milan are set to make a £25million offer to Chelsea for attacking midfielder Oscar in the upcoming January transfer window.

The 25-year-old has been out of favour at Stamford Bridge in the last two months, having dropped down the pecking order in Antonio Conte’s line up since the Italian gaffer switched to a more defensive 3-4-3 formation.

Oscar does not seem to have a role to play in the new-look Chelsea set up, with Eden Hazard ahead of him in the number 10 position while N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic have cemented their places in central midfield.

Inter have come close to signing the Brazil international in previous years and are determined to bring him to the San Siro this winter, according to the London Evening Standard.

It is understood that the Blues will demand at least £25m for the playmaker who they thought about getting rid of in the summer, before Conte changed his mind last minute and gave him a chance.

Oscar has demonstrated that he can be a world class talent on his day since moving to Chelsea from Brazilian side Internacional back in 2012, but inconsistency and lack of defensive effort has seen him struggle to reach his maximum potential in the Premier League.

Fellow midfielder Cesc Fabregas is also rumoured with an exit from Stamford Bridge and it looks likely that he will move on in January, with the Blues wanting to have a mid-season clear-out in order to free up the wage bill.
