The Serie A side are plotting a bid for the midfielder in January

Inter Milan are keen to bring Morgan Schneiderlin to the club in January, according to reports from Italy today.

The Serie A side are on the lookout for another midfielder in the winter transfer window and they have seemingly identified Schneiderlin as the player they want to bring in.

The 27-year old can certainly command a midfield, as shown by his time at Southampton, where he impressed many with his dominant performances and became one of the most sought after players in the Premier League.

He eventually secured a deal to go to Old Trafford but he could now be on the move yet again.

There’s only one problem about any potential move for the Man United man to go to Inter – the Italian side are, at present, only allowed to sign players on loan deals.

Breach of FFP rules

This is due to a breach of FFP rules and it means that any deal that goes ahead in the winter window will have to be on a short-term basis.

If the Red Devils are willing to loan him out until summer and then potentially send him away permanently at the end of the season, then Inter could certainly end up landing their man.

However, United could decide they would rather move the player on permanently now instead. He has struggled to feature much at Old Trafford this season, with other players currently being sat above him in the pecking order at the club.

It means that he has been confined to the bench for most of the season so far and Jose Mourinho is now ready to cash in on him, as he seemingly isn’t viewed as a key player at Old Trafford right now.

Instead, Mourinho has preferred the likes of Paul Pogba (who was brought in for a world-record fee in summer) and Michael Carrick.

If Mourinho wants the player moved on permanently next month, he may be forced to sell to another Premier League club in Everton, who have shown their interest in bringing him to Goodison Park full-time.

However, if United would rather not sell to another English club and don’t mind letting him leave on a short-term basis for now, then we could see Schneiderlin doing the business in Serie A for the remainder of the season.
