Is non league football better than league football

Non league football. People give it the equivalent of getting a d in an Exam, or an extra in a play. In other words they feel its a disappointment. However is non league football now expanding and becoming watched more? Big teams such as Man utd, Man City etc will always have the biggest fan base in England because everyone has heard of them in England and abroad. While Non League teams don’t get this kind of fandom they still have a decent fan base which increases year on year. The reasons? well they are obvious.

Firstly ticket prices, to go and see a team such as Dover or Salisbury it costs a mere 6 pounds. 6 pounds for a game, even if it is a small team, is always bound to draw people in. Why spend endless amount of money for travel, accomodation and the ticket when you could maybe walk a few miles or drive to the local stadium and watch them. That is exactly what more and more people are doing. Aswell as tickets, many Premier league fans moan about “glory hunters” or “fake fans”. You don’t get this at non league matches. They sing their hearts out for 90 minutes every game, and when they start losing you can see and hear the frustration grow. Shows the idea of loyal fans. If everyone went to see their local team each home game and maybe go and see a few away games one day they could be the main thing in football. So one day, will Non League football be as big as the big league? or will it still sit and be judged by those bigger teams?
