Midfielder not interested in move to Manchester City

Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has confirmed that he’s not interested in a move to Premier League rivals Manchester City, despite not being guaranteed first-team football at the Emirates anymore.

The England international has recently fully recovered from surgery and six months out, but with the form of Francis Coquelin, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla, Wilshere will have to fight hard for a first-team spot.

However, Wilshere did start during the final Premier League game on Sunday against West Bromwich Albion, and he scored the goal of the season, according to BBC Sport, during The Gunners‘ 4-1 win.

Manchester City Interest

The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with a shock exit from North London, with City keen on signing him because he’s young and English, which is what they need in their squad ahead of next season.

Manuel Pellegrini‘s men will only contain one Englishman next season, which wouldn’t fit in with the Premier League regulations, meaning they have to make some homegrown signings.

However, Wilshere won’t be one English signing as he’s confirmed that he’s not looking for a move.

Wilshere Plans Stay

When asked if he would be at Arsenal next season, the midfielder responded with: ‘Of course. I’ve been injured for a long time this season. I’ve worked hard. All I want to do at the minute is play football.’
