The Red Devils are planning to raid Atletico Madrid for the keeper if they lose David De Gea this summer

Man United are keeping tabs on Jan Oblak in the event that they lose David De Gea this summer.

The Red Devils won’t want to lose De Gea and they tied him up to a fresh and longer deal due to his tremendous performances in goal, in the hope of making sure his long-term future is at Old Trafford.

Despite this, there remains heavy interest from Real Madrid, who have been desperate to sign the Spaniard for quite some time now. In fact, a move nearly happened, only for the deal to be stopped due to a faulty fax machine.

However, they plan to step up their pursuit of De Gea at the end of this current campaign, as they believe Keylor Navas needs replacing as the number one at the Bernabeu.

Release clause of ÂŁ85m

If Madrid do manage to sign him, then the Red devils will turn their attention to Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak.

Oblak has been in extraordinary form for the Spanish side and has become one of the best keepers not just in La Liga but in Europe. Jose Mourinho believes he would be an ideal replacement for De Gea and they are willing to make a move if they need to.

His release clause is believed to be a whopping ÂŁ85m, which would break the record for the most expensive goalkeeper in the world. That record is currently held by Gianluigi Buffon, who made his move for ÂŁ33m.

However, United would likely be unwilling to pay so much, especially considering they are also planning a mega money move for Antoine Griezmann. Instead, they are likely to test the water with lower bids if De Gea leaves, to see if they can prise him away for cheaper.
