Club confirm they need to start planning for striker’s exit

Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed star-striker Javier Hernandez could leave the club in the near future, with Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool both interested.

The Mexican only left England over the summer after Louis van Gaal told him he was not needed at Manchester United, but due to his impressive goalscoring form in Germany, he’s already attracted interest from rival clubs.

The 27-year-old has already netted an impressive 21 goals in 24 games so far this season for Leverkusen, and he’s recently admitted that he wouldn’t mind a return to the Premier League.

Hernandez only cost the Bundesliga club £7.3million, and their director Jochen Rotthaus, has admitted that they may need to start planning for life without the striker.

Planning for Hernandez Exit

“We have to make the most of the Chicharito effect as much as possible,” he said.

“But at the same time, we must prepare ourselves for a time without Chicharito.

“We must bring other stars to the fore. We cannot get lost in Chicharito mania.”
