Chelsea Captain John Terry now faces a battle to recover in time for his finale.
The Blues defender will now be out for two to three weeks after picking up a serious Achilles injury.
Terry posted up a picture to his Instagram account, of himself undergoing Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy – which is a procedure that uses the athlete’s own blood cells to repair tendons or cartilage.
He said: “PRP. Being injured is the most frustrating thing as a player. Working hard to get back fit. @chelseafc.”
This now means he faces a race against time to get his fitness back and is strong enough to get on the field before he leaves Stamford Bridge forever.
The 35-year-old however, is expected to depart west London with his contract due to expire in the summer.
