Veteran could be leaving the club next summer

Chelsea captain John Terry could be set for a shock exit from the club next summer, according to reports.

The veteran was subbed at half-time during Chelsea‘s 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday, and since then, speculation has been high surrounding his future and role in the first-team at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho took off his long-term captain for Kurt Zouma, raising eyebrows during and after the game in the post-match conferences.

Stones In/Terry Out?

As well as Terry‘s substitution during the game on Sunday, Chelsea have also been strongly linked with a move for John Stones, with reports claiming they could bid as high as ÂŁ40million for the 21-year-old.

Stones is seen as the long-term replacement of Terry, so if Chelsea can secure the signing of the Everton star, they may look to offload their club-legend.

Terry is under a 12-month rolling contract at Stamford Bridge due to the club’s policy for over-30 players, so he could leave for free this time next year.

According to reports, Turkish side Fenerbahce are plotting a shock move to sign the veteran, which could see him join up with Nani and Robin Van Persie.
