Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has stated that the club need to keep hold of Ramires, in order to win the Premier League title.
Mourinho has told the Brazilian midfielder to up his game, with Ramires previously seen as an understudy to Nemanja Matic.
But following his fine cameo in the 5-3 defeat to Tottenham on New Year’s Day, Mourinho has challanged the midfielder to show what he can do, with recent reports linking him to Spanish side Real Madrid.
Mourinho told the club’s official website: “Hopefully Ramires is getting there step by step. Against Tottenham he played 45 minutes.
“He’s a player we need and he’s a player we haven’t had for the first part of the season. When we had him he was not really ready and finally he looks like he’s almost getting there.” ]
