Jose Mourinho fears losing Hazard

Eden Hazard could leave Chelsea if he isn’t protected more by referees, according to Blues boss, Jose Mourinho.

The Belgium is one of the most-fouled players in the Premier League due to his tricky movement and quick footwork, and Mourinho believes the treatment he gets from opponents could see him leave the country and apply his trade elsewhere.

Hazard came in for more rough treatment during their embarrassing 5-3 defeat to rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, and after the game, Mourinho stated that he fears losing his star-midfielder if the treatment doesn’t stop.

“People [are] in love with football in this country; people must be in love with Eden Hazard,” Mourinho said.

“The way, match after match, he’s being punished by opponents and he’s not being protected by referees, maybe one day we won’t have Eden Hazard.

“It’s one, two, three, four, five, 10 aggressive fouls against him. They kick and kick and kick, and the kid resists.

“He’s a very honest guy in the way he plays, but that’s another problem.”
