‘He will never be my perfect no.10’

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has laid into Eden Hazard – claiming he will never be his perfect number-10.

The Blues boss has recently dropped Hazard from Chelsea‘s starting XI despite him winning Player of the Year last season, and it’s caused friction in the two’s relationship.

However, following the Stoke City defeat, Hazard asked Mourinho to play him as a number-10 for the next game, which he did and it was one of the Belgian’s best performances of the season so far.

Despite the positive display in the position just behind the striker, Mourinho has blasted Hazard and has admitted that he will never be his perfect number-10, not like the players he used to have at former-clubs.

Mourinho Slams Hazard

Mourinho said: “Wesley Sneijder at Inter and Deco at Porto were the complete No.10s for me.

“Mesut Ozil was also good for me at Real Madrid.

“Sneijder was special. He was very good. He could defend, get in the box and score goals.

“Can Eden become that man? I don’t think so.

“Eden and I have different concepts of the No.10 position.

“For me a No.10 does a lot of things with the ball and without the ball. So for me a No.10 is a very special player in my team.

“I expect Eden to work back and defend. As a team we are now defending better.

“I also like a No.10 to score goals. I like a No.10 to get in the box. I like a No.10 to score like Oscar’s goal against Maccabi Tel Aviv.

“And Willian was phenomenal last year and he is phenomenal this year. He is very dangerous.”
