Chelsea boss plans to spend over Summer
Premier League champions Chelsea will spend money over the Summer, according to manager Jose Mourinho.
The Blues strolled to the Premier League title this season and have been top since day one, but Mourinho insists that he won’t let his squad stand still as he already makes plans for next season.
Chelsea have been working on a one-in, one-out transfer system since Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge, but with financial backing this Summer, they may sign more than they sell.
Big Signings for European Success
According to reports, Mourinho wants to add three or four faces to his title-winning squad as they look to push on in Europe after a disappointing campaign in this year’s Champions League.
The Blues were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain in the last-16 stage despite the French side being down to 10-men for most of the second-leg.
A few names being linked with a Chelsea move are; Antoine Griezmann, Gareth Bale, Koke and Raphael Varane, and Mourinho has reassured fans that the club will be active throughout the Summer.
Mourinho Reveals Plans
Mourinho said: “I know that our rivals are not going to accept this title and they are going to fight and there are three or four teams that will be aiming for us and we have to be better – me, the players and our squad.
“Maybe they need some fresh blood to keep them under pressure. They know me they know that they are not going to keep their positions on the basis of this year.
“I think we have everything. Can anybody say we don’t play fantastic football? No. Well, they can, but it’s not true. We have art in our game but we also have fantastic spirit, organisation and pragmatism. We are a complete team and that is why we are champions.
“It was a bit of a risk to come here for a second time but with a new team a new generation we are champions again, and as a Chelsea supporter I feel it a double way.”
