Jose Mourinho slated for selling De Bruyne

Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has been heavily criticised for selling Kevin De Bruyne to Wolfsburg after he was never given a fair chance at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium completed his move away from Chelsea last January in a deal worth ÂŁ18million, which also saw Mohamed Salah join The Blues who is already out of favour at the club and has been sent out on loan to Italian side, Fiorentina.

However, this season De Bruyne has shown his class and what he can contribute when playing regularly as he has scored nine and assisted 16 in 25 Bundesliga appearances.

Many fans have been wondering the same thing about the Belgium international, and TalkSPORT host, Adrian Durham, believes it was a massive mistake by Mourinho to let the midfielder leave.

“De Bruyne has been on fire for Wolfsburg this season to maintain their position as closest challengers to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

“I can’t help thinking he might have provided some energy and quality at this stage of the season. Mourinho’s decision to sell seemed to be made in haste – the Belgian made fewer than 10 appearances for Chelsea.

“There was a suggestion that issues off the field could have forced De Bruyne out. I cannot believe that, not with Mourinho’s skills as a man-manager.

“Letting him go doesn’t look good on Mourinho and hindsight is a wonderful thing of course – but Jose is paid a lot of money to be the ‘Special One’ who spots the kind of things ordinary mortals cannot.”
