Jose Mourinho is planning a shock move to sign Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero this summer.
The Sunday Times believes that Aguero could be one of the names on the way out of the Etihad this summer, as Pep Guardiola favours Gabriel Jesus as the first choice striker.
Mourinho is currently looking for a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede’s time in England appears to be over, after he injured his ACL in the Europa League.
The Times are reporting Aguero would be ideal for Mourinho. He would cost around £55million and United are willing to pay that fee. They are also willing to match the £230,000 per week wage Aguero earns.
Last week, Aguero reiterated that his future at City was in doubt following Jesus’ arrival.
‘I know there will come a time when I have to step aside,’ said the Argentine. ‘Other young strikers like Gabriel will be brought in.
