Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to offer up to £40million in order to sign Real Madrid defender, Raphael Varane.
The Frenchman is unsettled in Spain due to the lack of first-team football he is getting under Carlo Ancelotti, and he could be set for a Summer move away from the Bernabeu.
Chelsea and Manchester United are two clubs strongly linked with signing the centre-back, but it’s believed Mourinho is favourite due to the two working together at Madrid.
Mourinho was the man who gave Varane his big chance and once dubbed him the best young centre-back in the world.
Now back at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho is desperate to have a reunion with the Madrid star and is prepared to offer the La Liga giants up to £40m.
