Schalke play-maker to make switch to England?
Arsenal could finally be set to land Schalke star Julian Draxler after German media reported that the midfielder is looking likely to join the Premier League this Summer.
The Gunners have been long-term admirers of the creative midfielder, and have been strongly linked with signing him for the past few transfer windows.
Arsenal’s Interest in Draxler
Draxler was close to joining the North London outfit last January, but Arsene Wenger stalled on Schalke‘s asking-price, which was believed to be around £37million.
However, Wenger will renew his interest over the Summer and is prepared to part ways with around £30m for the 21-year-old.
Draxler has had a season to forget after being riddled with injury problems, but according to German media, he could finally be set to complete a switch away from the Bundesliga and to the Premier League.
German Media Expect Move
Sky Sports News HD tweeted out: ‘According to our information, a transfer of Julian Draxler to the Premier League in the summer is always more likely.’
Arsenal will be alerted after the recent speculation, but with a whole host of midfield talent already at the Emirates Stadium, Wenger may not choose to launch a bid this time around.
