Liverpool manager wants reunion with star-striker

Jurgen Klopp is hopeful he can convince Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski to join him at Liverpool, according to reports.

The duo worked together at Borussia Dortmund and it’s well documented that it was Klopp who turned Lewandowski into the lethal striker he is today.

After showing sensational scoring form for Dortmund, the Polish international left the club in order to join fierce-rivals Bayern, where he went on to continue scoring goals for fun.

According to some reports however, the striker is considering his future and may seek a new challenge outside of Germany.

Lewandowski has scored 23 goals in 26 games so far, and his lethal form has attracted interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Klopp Hopeful

Despite the Spanish club being interested, Klopp is feeling optimistic about his chances of luring the striker to Anfield, despite the Pole being worth around £50million.

Liverpool are in need of a star-striker and Lewandowski would fit the bill perfectly, but the Reds are looking like outsiders to get Champions League football next season, which could damage their chances.
