Liverpool boss wants to sign new goalkeeper

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to replace Simon Mingolet in the January transfer window, according to former-player Bruce Grobbelaar.

The ex-Red has claimed Klopp is in the market for a new number-one and has been scouting the Bundesliga for a potential signing in the New Year.

In recent reports, Liverpool have been linked with signing Bernd Leno and Timo Horn who both come from Germany, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen and Cologne, respectively.

Speaking about possible transfer plans, Grobbelaar believes the club will be signing a new ‘keeper in the New Year.

Goalkeeper Signing

“I’ve had my criticism of Mignolet for two or three years, I even got pulled in and asked not to criticise him so openly,” Grobbelaar told talkSPORT.

“I think he [Klopp] is looking at it [buying a replacement for Mignolet].

“There are a couple of goalkeepers in the German league that he is looking at so I can see that might be one of his first signings.”
