Liverpool boss wants to keep winger at Anfield next season

Fenerbahce have been unable to strike a permanent deal for Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic because Jurgen Klopp wants to keep him at the club for next season.

The Serbian winger was signed for Liverpool by Brendan Rodgers after he agrees to pay Benfica ÂŁ20million, but just one year later, he then agreed to ship him out on loan to the Turkish club.

Markovic has since hit out at Rodgers for ruining his Anfield career, but he could still have a second chance to impress on Merseyside.

According to reports in Turkey, Fenerbahce have been unable to strike a permanent deal with the Premier League club because Klopp wants to keep him for next season.

Klopp Impressed

Klopp has sent Liverpool scouts out to Turkey in order to monitor Markovic and track his performances, and so far the German has been impressed with the winger’s form.

It was reported earlier this season that Klopp wanted to recall the winger midway through his loan-deal, but he was unable to due to the contract agreements between the two club.

Markovic is expected to return to Liverpool at the end of the season.
