Klopp blocks star’s move from Liverpool

Sunderland might have to let go of their plans of landing Ben Woodburn, with Liverpool refusing to let him leave the club on loan.

According to a report in The Sun, Sunderland were aiming to rope in the teenager from Liverpool, but Jurgen Klopp stamped his foot and stopped a potential loan deal.

With Philippe Coutinho having gone to Barcelona on a bumper deal and other attacking options also decreasing with the departure of Marko Grujic to Cardiff, Klopp is said to have stalled the movement of Woodburn.

It is also being understood that the 18-year-old was keen to make a move to Sunderland, where he could have enjoyed some game time, having made just five appearances for Liverpool since 2016.

Chris Coleman has been desperately looking at ways to find attacking options to bolster his squad, who are sitting at the bottom of the Championship table.
