Liverpool ready to make Ruben Neves ‘best paid teenager’

New Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given the go ahead to sign in-demand Portuguese wonder kid Ruben Neves, ahead of Chelsea.

The Porto youth product has been regularly watched by Liverpool in the second half of 2015, as the player fits the club’s transfer committee’s agenda of young and potentially profitable in the future.

Reports suggest Chelsea were ready to spend in excess of £29 million to bring the Porto star to the Premier League, however, the Reds are now ready to swoop for the Portugal Under-21 international.

Liverpool are prepared to make him the best-paid teenager in world football, as the Reds held informal talks with Porto about a possible transfer.

Youngster gaining valuable experience

Neves may be just 18-years-old, but he already boasts playing Champions League football, having made two appearances in Europe’s elite competition this campaign, on the back of nine appearances last season.

He has made three league appearances for the Portuguese giants this season and Chelsea could further scout the player, as they look to compete with Liverpool for the youngster’s signature.

Super agent Jorge Mendes had apparently welcomed the approach of Liverpool for Neves, but details of whether a deal is likely to go through, to see the Portuguese move to Anfield, are unapparent as of yet.
