Liverpool and Manchester City are both considering making a move for Newcastle United star Rolando Aarons.

Aarons has rose to prominence this season with a number of eye-catching performances, including scoring during Newcastle’s Capital One cup win at City.

He has also impressed for England U20’s, and the comparisons with Sterling are easy to draw due to both players’ lightning pace, tricky feet and technical ability.

And his solid season so far has attracted the two teams who finished first and second last year, with a bid in January possible.

For his part, Aarons is keeping his feet on the ground and keen to play down comparisons between the two.

“Raheem has played really well for the past two or three seasons and I’m nowhere near that level yet.”

“He played for England at the World Cup and I’ve only managed three or four games for Newcastle, so there’s no need to get carried away just yet.”
