The Reds are believed to interested in signing France international Lucas Digne

Talks were held over the weekend between Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, according to French media outlet Canal Supporters.

Digne, 22, stated his intent to leave the Ligue 1 side by handing in a transfer request last week which has reportedly strengthened Liverpool’s interest in the former Lille man.

The Anfield club are believed to have registered an interest as manager Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster his defensive options, whilst providing Alberto Moreno with competition.

PSG manager Laurent Blanc has insisted he would like Digne to remain with the Parc des Princes club, looking ahead to next season.

“He is with us and has prepared excellently. This is a good thing for him and possibly for us, should he stay with us this season” said Blanc.

Di Maria interest

Angel Di Maria, who scored three goals in 27 games last season, is reportedly set for a move to PSG after failing to make an impact at Old Trafford.

The Ligue 1 champions are believed to have agreed a £46.5m deal with the Red Devils for the Argentina international, according to French paper L’Equipe.

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal admitted he “does not know why” Di Maria has not joined United on their pre-season tour of the United States.

However, reports have emerged the 27-year-old is set to join up with PSG in New Jersey, during their tour of America to complete a medical with the Paris club.
