Real Madrid winger rated at £15 million
Liverpool believe they are close to agreeing a deal for Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev following a £14.7 million bid.
The Russian spent last season on loan at Villarreal and impressed new manager Rafa Benitez upon his return to Madrid this summer, and it was expected the Russian would get first-team opportunities.
Although, with the likes of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco and James Rodriguez preferred in the forward roles, Cheryshev may find it more beneficial to leave.
Premier League Interest
And this is where Liverpool come in to the equation. Having sold Raheem Sterling boss Brendan Rodgers has cash to splash and is thought to have lodged a bid deemed acceptable by Madrid.
It’s yet unclear whether the 24 year-old will agree to the move or stay at the Bernabeu to try and fight for his place in the team, with Arsenal also believed to be in the hunt.
However, Liverpool feel should Cheryshev choose to leave La Liga then they will be the club to obtain the signature of the winger ahead of their rivals.
