Klopp wants Raul Jiminez to bolster attack

Liverpool are preparing a move for Benfica striker Raul Jiminez.

Squawka have revealed that Jurgen Klopp is eyeing the man for a summer move, should Daniel Sturridge move on from the club.

Jimenez has scored eight times in 18 games across all competitions for Benfica so far this season and Liverpool understand that while he is going nowhere in January, he could be available at the end of the season.

The 25-year old won the super cup with Atletico Madrid in 2015, and was set to join West Ham that year, but failed to show up for his medical after claiming he’d overslept and missed his flight to London.

Benfica then signed him in a two-stage deal which eventually became worth an estimated ÂŁ18m when they finally bought out the remaining 50 per cent of his rights from a third party last summer.

Now, he is targeted by Jurgen Klopp, having impressed on British soil before at the 2012 Olympics, winning gold for Mexico in the football event.
