Jurgen Klopp has spoken to Roberto Firmino about whether to sign the German star

Liverpool are considering a summer move for Kevin Volland.

According to reports, current Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of the winger/striker and was eager to sign him back when he was at Borussia Dortmund, although a move never materialised.

Now at Anfield, Klopp is once again considering a bid to try and bring in the 23-year old. Liverpool have been keeping an eye on him over the last few months and despite a difficult season for the player – he has hardly hit the net this season – they are still interested in signing him.

Hoffenheim could sell him on the cheap

The fact that he has failed to score consistently could ultimately make the Reds want him more, as it means Hoffenheim are willing to cash-in on the player and sell him on the cheap.

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly already consulted Roberto Firmino – who has previously played with the German in the Bundesliga – about his thoughts on signing the player and believes that if the two of them link-up again, then the goals could start flowing.

Volland’s contract only expires in three years time but Hoffenheim are willing to accept a small fee for him and there is also believed to be a release clause in his contract, which is worth close to ÂŁ12m – a fee that Liverpool could be willing to match.
