Ola Aina linked with shock switch to Anfield
Liverpool are plotting a formal move for Chelsea youngster Ola Aina, according to reports.
It emerged yesterday that Jurgen Klopp was considering an ambitious January swoop for Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, and it’s now been suggested that the Bosnian isn’t the only Chelsea player he wants to sign.
According to reports, Liverpool are interested in signing Blues youngster Aina and could make a formal move in the New Year.
The 19-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of this season, with his contract expiring in June, and he could be set for a shock move to Anfield, with officials keen on signing him.
Attracting Interest
Aina has represented England at U-21 level and has even won admirers from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and Serie A side Napoli, who could enter talks with him in January due to the Bosman Rule.
The teenager is a versatile defender and has shown a lot of promise so far this season, but is concerned about the lack of first-team opportunities under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
Aina could join the likes of Charly Musonda on the way out of Chelsea due to the lack of chances given to the youth players.
