Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool are weighing up a January bid for Napoli midfielder, Marek Hamsik, and are hopeful they can see off competiton from rivals; Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Slovakian international is one of two players linked with a New Year move away from Rafael Benitez’s side, with Gonzalo Higuain also linked with a move away from Serie A, and The Reds are confident of signing one of them, but are keen on signing both.
Rodgers is showing interest in both Hamsik and Higuain and is prepared to spend big in order to land both of them in January, but he faces stiff competition, especially for the play-maker from Slovakia.
Hamsik, who has been one of Napoli’s star-men for several years now, is also being tracked by Chelsea and United, who are both considering January moves as well.
According to reports in Spain, the English trio all want to bring the 27-year-old to England, but it’s believed as it stands, Hamsik is content to stay in Italy.
