Reds prepared to spend £15m on rapid forward

Liverpool are keen on signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from German side Borussia Dortmund and would be willing to part ways with £15million.

The Gabon international is a dangerous forward who can play anywhere across the front-three, and with his pace on the counter-attack, he has been lethal for Jurgen Klopp‘s side this season.

Successful Season

Despite Dortmund having a disappointing campaign overall, Aubameyang has netted 14 goals in 29 appearances and has caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers throughout the campaign.

A potential stumbling block and issue for Liverpool however is that the 25-year-old is tied down on a long-term deal. The forward is under contract at Dortmund until 2018, but that hasn’t put off Rodgers.

Mass Changes at Anfield

With drastic changes expected to take place at Anfield throughout the Summer, Rodgers and the Liverpool board are set to cut several players from the first-team and raise funds in order to sign four or five new faces.

Several names have been linked with a move to Merseyside over the Summer, but Aubameyang is thought to be high on Rodgers’ wish-list.

Liverpool want to sign a centre-midfielder in order to replace Steven Gerrard, and also sign two or three new strikers as the likes of Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli are all expected to leave over the Summer.

Rodgers’ Dream Signing

With other names thrown about, Rodgers is keen to add the Dortmund front-man to his side due to his versatility and his pace which could bring the free-flowing attacking football back to Anfield.

The Reds are prepared to offer around £15m for the Gabon-man.
