Liverpool are plotting moves for both Virgil Van Dijk and Sam McQueen according to reports today.
The two Southampton men have impressed for the club so far this season and Jurgen Klopp is ready to try and prise the two of them away from the St Mary’s Stadium and bring them to Anfield.
Sam McQueen has been linked with a move to Liverpool for a few months now and with the 21-year old yet to sign a new deal at Southampton – despite his current contract expiring in the summer – the Reds are ready to pounce and launch a bid to sign him.
McQueen hasn’t featured too much in the Premier League yet but when he has been given the chance, he has shone in the left-back position.
It’s an area that Liverpool have struggled in and Klopp believes McQueen could be the answer to their problems in that position.
In addition, Van Dijk is also being linked with a move. He has become arguably one of the best and most exciting centre-backs in the Premier League since his move from Celtic and he has impressed so much that Saints offered him a new six-year deal in May, which he duly signed.
Despite only just penning a new deal, Liverpool remain hopeful that they can bring him to Anfield and will do everything they can to ensure that it happens.
They’re even considering launching a huge bid of £40m for the two of them, in the hope that it convinces Southampton boss Claude Puel to reluctantly let go of the two defenders.
