Liverpool believe the 23-year-old Man utd target Koke is the perfect man to fill Gerrard’s shoes when he leaves Anfield at the end of the season.
Koke, has also been linked with a move to the Red Devils, and has a £44m buyout clause within his contract.
Atletico Madrid seem desperate to keep their man, who is regarded as one of the best midfielders in La Liga.
Koke insists he’s not keen to leave and said: “I see life in red and white.
“I am happy here, the club is growing and I grow with it. I don’t see the time or the place to leave here.”
However, Atletico have a history of selling big players with Diego Costa and Filipe Luis both leaving last summer
