Reds ready to offer ‘keeper new deal

Liverpool are ready to offer Simon Mignolet a new deal, despite transfer reports suggesting Jurgen Klopp is looking to sign a replacement.

The Reds have been linked with a couple of Bundesliga goalkeepers, as well as Stoke City‘s Jack Butland, but in yesterday’s press conference, Klopp finally responded to the transfer talks and confirmed he’s not in the market for a new number-one.

The Liverpool boss went on to sing the praises of Mignolet and stated he’s one of the smartest keepers he’s ever worked with.

Now reports have emerged that Mignolet could be offered a new deal at Anfield, with officials ready to reward him with a new contract.

New Deal for Mignolet

The Belgian’s current deal expires in two-years time, but after the praise received from Klopp, the board are desperate to get the ‘keeper on a long-term deal.

Contact has already been made between the club and Mignolet’s representatives, and it’s believed a deal should be agreed to with minimal fuss.

Details on the length of the new deal or the weekly-wage have not yet been revealed.
