The Hull defender will now undergo a medical with the Reds on Thursday

Liverpool have finally reached an agreement to sign Andrew Robertson from Hull today.

The Reds have been chasing the defender for most of the summer, as they have been on the lookout to add some more defensive reinforcements ahead of a campaign back in the Champions League.

Hull were not keen on letting the player leave but with several top sides sniffing around him and with the Reds continuing to table bids for the 23-year old, they have finally decided to accept their latest bid.

That bid is worth around ÂŁ10m, with a fee of ÂŁ8m being paid upfront and then ÂŁ2m in additional add-ons.

Third signing of summer

With the deal agreed, it has been confirmed that the player is set to undergo a medical with Liverpool on Thursday. Once that is completed, he will officially become a Red ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

If and when a deal is completed, he will become the club’s third signing of the summer. Jurgen Klopp has already recruited a new striker in Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and made a huge swoop for Roma’s Mohamed Salah.

Robertson will slot in at left-back for Liverpool, a position that has been a problem for them over the last few seasons. James Milner helped solve that problem by filling in there over the last season but it is Robertson’s main position and it will be a relief to have him play there.

The player is also able to play slightly further up at left midfield if needed too.
