Liverpool may be about to receive a double transfer blow in regards to their striking options.

According to rumours, Belgian Christian Benteke has admitted his future may lie away from Anfield.

Also, AC Milan are reportedly still interested in making Mario Balotelli’s loan from the Reds permanent.

It has been a tough first season for Benteke since his arrival last summer from Aston Villa.

He has managed only seven goals all season, and has not scored this calendar year so far.

Even manager Jurgen Klopp appears to be losing faith in Benteke, and has admitted that the forward is not an automatic choice.

Klopp, speaking after the Capital One Cup final defeat to Manchester City, said: “This is not a pre-season.

“It is a tournament and you have to win all the time.

“The only thing a player can do in a situation like this, not just Christian, is first of all accept the situation.

“Accept it in a positive way, and don’t think, “I am on the bench, I don’t have pressure – Thank God.””

Balotelli’s future also seems to be lying away from Merseyside, with Milan keen on keeping the controversial Italian.

The Reds originally signed Balotelli from Milan for ÂŁ16m in 2014, but only lasted one season before being returned to Italy.

Like Benteke, he has also struggled for goals this term, only scoring his second goal since September against Alessandria on Tuesday in a 5-0 win.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Milan are preparing for a large squad overhaul this summer as their hopes of securing Champions League football for next season wane.

Yet Balotelli is said to remain in manager Sinisa Mihajlovic’s plans for the future.
