Mino Raiola, the agent of Liverpool forward Mario Balotelli, has rubbished reports linking his client with a move away from Anfield this window, but has stopped short of saying the striker will remain on Merseyside indefinitely.

Balotelli, 24, was left out of manager Brendan Rodgers’ squad for the Capital One Cup tie, and the Irishman has recently said that Balotelli is not good enough in training to get in to the matchday squad.

Speaking about a move for Balotelli, Raiola commented, “We didn’t ask to leave. It is too early, with the injury, to say we leave in January. There are no big problems. He’s adapting a new style that the manager wants. We’ll see in the summer.”

Balotelli has been linked with a move to Lazio, PSG and even a reunion with former manager Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan. With rumours persisting, it looks likely that the enigmatic forward’s return to English football will be short lived.
